Analyst/ Associate – Risk Governance & Framework
Morgan Stanley- Firm Risk Management (FRM) supports Morgan Stanley to achieve its business goals by partnering with business units across the Firm to realize efficient risk-adjusted returns, acting as a strategic advisor to the Board and protecting the Firm from exposure to losses as a result of credit, market, liquidity, model and other risks.
Associate – Wealth Management Technology (Internal Audit)
We’re seeking someone to join our Technology audit team as an Associate to provide coverage for applications and system infrastructure. In the Audit division, we provide senior management an objective and independent assessment of the Firm’s internal control environment for risk management and governance. This is an Associate level position within Technology Audit, which is responsible for inspecting controls in the applications that support all three lines of business.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Analyst/ Associate – Risk Governance & Framework
The role offers an opportunity to work closely with stakeholders across Firm Risk Management that support the U.S. Banks. Key responsibilities include:
- Support the continuous improvement and enhancement of the U.S. Banks Risk Governance Framework (RGF) including Risk Appetite Statements, Risk Assessments, and Risk Metrics
- Assist RGF adherence process to assess effectiveness of the RGF
- Compile reports on the US Banks data quality and open issues
- Track status of initiatives to improve data quality
- Assist business-as-usual and ad-hoc management reporting
- Coordinate and deliver ad-hoc analysis as required
Associate – Wealth Management Technology (Internal Audit)
- Execute a wide range of assurance activities (e.g., audits, continuous monitoring, closure verification)
- Understand and adopt new audit tools and techniques
- Develop clear and concise messages regarding risk and business impact within relevant coverage area
- Identify and leverage data to incorporate into analysis of coverage area
- Collaborate with a wide range of internal stakeholders to build effective working relationships and to execute on team deliverables
- Effectively manage multiple deliverables while delivering high-quality work
- Work with the technology audit team, within Internal Audit, to manage/execute risk based audits
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Analyst/ Associate – Risk Governance & Framework
- Bachelor’s Degree required, ideally in Business, Finance, or similar.
- Basic knowledge of database structures
- 2 -3 years of experience in global and complex settings in the Financial Services industry (Control, Regulatory, Risk, Compliance, or Internal Audit background preferred)
- High proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Familiarity with the software development lifecycle
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate effectively and establish trust with stakeholders across the business
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
Associate – Wealth Management Technology
- At least two years’ relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely and adapt messages to audience
- Ability to identify patterns and anomalies in data
- A commitment to practicing inclusive behaviors
- Willingness to solicit and provide feedback to further develop self and peers
- Strong understanding of IT general controls
- Familiarity with COBIT, SOX, NIST and FFIEC
